Why apply

If your business idea is convincing, you will receive financing, get access to a network of professionals and reinforce your visibility. Because our process is designed to help you sharpen your technology and business model. In short: to get your business investor-ready so that you can raise more funds to roll-out your venture.

If your business idea is selected, you will receive an interest-free loan of max. 250,000 Swiss francs towards the operational costs (→ standard loan conditions).

We also provide technical, managerial and business support during the development of your social enterprise. And you will get access to a network of professionals and investors in the field.

Once you’ve implemented first phase of your business idea, we’ll assess it to validate your technology and business model.

With all this, you will have a strong case to present to investors to get funding to roll-out your business.

Who is eligible?

  • The following entities are eligible:

    • Independent start-ups, small and medium-sized companies (SME) and social entrepreneurs (1-249 employees)
    • Registered in Switzerland
    • Existing prototype in the mentioned areas (→ scope)
    • Willingness to serve low-income customers in rural areas and small towns of developing and emerging countries

    You may submit this form any time. If eligible, you will receive guidelines and a template to prepare your proposal (usually within a few days). If not eligible, we will let you know so.



Included in our scope are innovative technologies, processes and business models that aim at:

  • purifying water for human consumption or agriculture
  • providing drinking water (extract, ship, store, etc.) and ensuring more sustainable and equitable delivery of water supply services
  • making water use more efficient (human consumption, irrigation, small industries, energy generation, other uses, …), and
  • preserving water quality (wastewater & sludge treatment at household or community level, other interventions intending to protect/preserve water in the immediate environment or in the related watershed)
