Value proposition

The WATA device is a simple appliance that only requires salt, water and electricity to produce chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) through a process of electrolysis. It can be used in any community that lacks access to a chlorine supply chain or to a drinkable water supply. The produced chlorine, after dilution, can be used as well for disinfecting floors, clothes or even food.
As WATA Entreprise will target primarily rural areas, especially off-center hospitals, the clean water produced by its clients will also benefit low income communities.

The WATA process


WATA Enterprise is targeting to give access to safe water to 1.6 million people in Burkina Faso and Zambia in five years thanks to the WATA® devices sold to the Ministries of Health in these countries.

The scale-up of WATA® devices to include healthcare centers in Burkina Faso and Zambia has only started and we will update you regularly on progress. Currently the equipment of 80 health care facilities in Chad is in progress.
